ITNT – Spies paid by the Mossad, Israel’s main spy agency, provided the United States with intel in the operation that resulted in the assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani, the powerful head of Iran’s elite Quds Force.

The Mossad informants, two security employees at Baghdad airport and two workers in the private Syrian airline Cham Wings, gave the intelligence about Soleimani’s secret flight from Damascus to Baghdad.

According to the Jerusalem Post one of the key spies was on board Soleimani’s plane.

Netanyahu had been the only non-US leader who appeared in the know about the planned operation beforehand.

The timing of the assassination suggests that the United States had sought to take out a broader swathe of the Iranian military leadership when it killed Soleimani.

Earlier, Donald Trump had said that he knew that Soleimani was planning to bomb at least 4 US embassies in the region.

However, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper has stated that he was never shown any specific piece of evidence that Iran was planning an attack on four American embassies, further indicating that Trump has been lying all long.

The coordination between the CIA and the Mossad, claims the Jerusalem Post, is “also important for the US public to see, especially at a time when Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has brought into mainstream US political discourse the idea of using US aid to Israel – which is wholly military assistance – as leverage against the Israeli government.”

Sanders is, fortunately, making it acceptable to talk about reducing security assistance to Israel.
