The trailer has received negative receptions on Twitter, where users have already predicted the plot of the show. One user was blocked by both of the official Twitter accounts of Messiah and Netflix for spoiling the twist ending where the character that the official trailer attempts to portray as and suggest is Jesus is actually the anti-Christ trying to trick people.
This was predicted due to Netflix revealing the character, being played by Mehdi Dehbi, his name “Al Massih ad-Dajjal” which translates to the Antichrist or false messiah in Arabic, and refers to the Islamic prophecy of the Antichrist. Pretending to be the messiah to trick people into following the devil.
The prophecy states that some of the signs he will be a pretender will be that he will have one eye, and have the word “disbeliever” written on his forehead. When one user commented “I predict he will accidentally lose one eye” he was blocked by the official accounts and had his tweets hidden by the original poster. Suggesting he had accidentally predicted the plot of the series and the twist ending.
We live in a time where something as evil and repulsive as the Dajjal (the Anti-Christ/ False Messiah) is portrayed as something appealing. A very real concept of the Dajjal who’s to come at the end of the time is portrayed in a series for financial gain and mind manipulation normalizing the Dajjal.
We must educate ourselves and extract information from Divine Sources rather than taking and learning from television and the media. It would be very problematic if one were not able to differentiate fact from fiction of a very serious concept like the Anti-Christ/ False Messiah. – Youtube comments
